Origins
Fielded a team from 1902, then the 1905 Buckman Act made it a women's college and football vanished for four decades until men returned in 1947. Bowden took a nothing program in 1976 and produced fourteen straight top-five finishes and two national titles — the most sustained excellence anyone has managed from a standing start.
